First Gen Miata Widebody Kit with Stock Bumpers – Gallery Below
This page shows our first gen Miata, 1990-97 Wide Body Kit. It consists of four flares that are designed to be bonded into the stock fenders and 4 flare extensions that bond to the original or aftermarket bumpers. This is the only way to install flares on the rear as the rear fenders cannot be removed. This also keeps the kit legal for use in SM2. Small extensions are included for the bumper at each corner. A bolt-on front fender set may be coming along later although it will still require bonding for the rear and the bumpers.
The bumper extensions are intended for use on stock bumpers, but aftermarket bumpers that are similar to the stock ones will also work. The extensions start from approximately halfway through the side marker lights.
The best part is that this kit is thick enough for daily use. Run big rubber or simply give your car the stance to back up an FM II or Ubercharger powerplant.
– The first of Mazda’s next-generation products to blend SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY with KODO design –
HIROSHIMA, Japan—Mazda Motor Corporation today announced that its new compact crossover SUV will be called the Mazda CX-5. It is the production model derived from the Mazda MINAGI concept car, which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show* in March this year and will be shown at the New York International Auto Show that opens on April 20, 2011. The CX-5 will be the first production vehicle to incorporate Mazda’s new design theme, ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ as debuted on the Mazda SHINARI concept car, as well as the full range of breakthrough SKYACTIV technologies, including engines, transmissions, body and chassis. The CX-5 will join Mazda’s global line-up in 2012. Continue reading “Mazda Announces New Compact SUV Will be Mazda CX-5”
Flirting with the rev limiter at the top of 4th gear, a faint brush of brakes is required as we hurtle into the left-hand kink at the end of the long front straightaway. The optimum turn-in point isn’t entirely clear because our view of the exit curbing is blocked by the pavement itself as it rises and falls slightly between here and there.
And that’s just Turn One. Four or five other corners here at Thunderhill Raceway are similarly obscured by the track designer’s strategic exploitation of the gently rolling terrain found here in the foothills west of Willows, California.
The Mazda MINAGI Concept embodies Mazda’s new SKYACTIV technologies and new KODO design language, signaling the way for the next generation of Mazda cars to come.
GENEVA (March 1, 2011) – The MINAGI Concept makes its world premiere at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show as the expression of Mazda’s new SKYACTIV technologies and new KODO design language. It is the first model which showcases characteristics likely to be seen in the next generation of Mazda cars. For this reason, Mazda has fully incorporated its SKYACTIV technologies into every aspect of driving performance, including the powertrain, chassis, and even body design. As the second concept vehicle to incorporate Mazda’s new ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ design language, MINAGI challenges conventions with emotional design and exhilarating performance.
