rdrracingHeat No Match For Mazda Rotary Performance

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., July 2, 2009 — Robert Davis Racing (RDR) www.robertdavisracing.com completed another successful NASA weekend, this time at a blazing hot Buttonwillow Raceway Park.  The Performance Touring RX-8s brought home three poles and three victories between drivers Jim Holloway, and Dennis Holloway.

On Saturday, in only their third start with the Mazda RX-8 in the E1 Class, the RDR combo of Dennis Holloway and Jeremy Barnes sat on the pole and won their class in the three hour Saturday afternoon enduro.  The margin of victory was over a lap to competitors like BMW and Scion, in heat over 100 degrees.  The Spec Miata racing was competitive with Jeremy Barnes taking home two podium finishes.

About RDR: RDR has been a dominant force on the west coast in SCCA Club Racing, winning regional, divisional and national titles for the last six years.  While the team still supports the SCCA, NASA has given it the opportunity to race in different classes, eliminating much of the inter- team competition.  MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development’s new support of NASA also aided the transition, as the team’s goal is to capture three NASA National titles at Miller Motorsports Park in September.

RDR appreciates the support of Mother’s Polishes and Waxes, SAFERACER, Hoosier Racing Tires, MAZDASPEEDMotorsports Development, Motul, AIM Sports, Racing Hart, Nippon Paint, Racing Beat, Speed Source, Hawk Brakes, AWR, Classy Car Auto Detailing, Sparco, Pure Power, Star Shield Armor, Petrol Eyewear, and EMI.
