Protomotive's Mazda6 World Challenge Touring Car by AWR
We have started a second gallery of the car in a more finished condition

The Mazda6 below is currently being built by AWR Racing for the Protomotive team, to be raced in the 2005 Speed World Challenge Touring Car class. Scott Bradley will be driving this new car. Scott Bradley signed with Protomotive in 2004 after running partial seasons the previous two years.

Protomotive Racing has been racing Mazda products in the Pro and Club ranks for over two decades. They have notched wins with 5 different Mazda models, including the first Professional Victory for the Mazda Miata in the Speedvision Endurance Championship. They are especially adept at developing young talent, helping Charles Espenlaub and Joe Fox win the "Rising Star" award in 1997 and 1998.

"The whole team is excited to work with Scott" said Team Owner Joe Jordan. "He brings all the needed ingredients. He is fast, smart, a great attitude, and the personality that Marketing Partners look for. We really think Bradley can help us take Circuit City and Sony to the winner's circle this year."

Bradley, the 2001 Star Mazda Series North American Champion, claimed the first ever pole position for Mazda in World Challenge Touring Car competition in only his second race in 2002. Since then he has had several additional front row starts in the series and finished 2003 with two podium finishes at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and Miami in an LMP675 car in the American Le Mans Series.

"Participating in the American Le Mans Series events has helped me continue to develop my skills as a driver, which can only help me as we develop the new Mazda 6 and come to grips with the new Toyo RA1 tires mandated for the championship this season," Bradley related. "The level of competition in the series is tough and we will have our work cut out for us, but I am confident that we will challenge for wins and the championship."

The 2004 SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Championship season will start at Sebring International Raceway as part of the 52nd Mobile1 Twelve Hours of Sebring week March 17th - 20th.
