Daryl Drummond has been involved in the Mazda racing scene since early in the 1970s. This is not to mention a pre Mazda racing interest in drag racing and off road racing.

Over the years, Daryl has been actively involved in most venues of Mazda racing with emphasis in SCCA club, where users of his products have netted nine national championships with seven different drivers in three different classes. image of drummond name on formula atlantic

Often times competitors are using products he has developed, unknowingly, as the products are distributed by MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development.

Daryl Drummond has been chosen by Star Mazda Race Cars to build the bulletproof, 170hp 13B engines for the spec Formula Mazda class.

Brief History of Daryl Drummond:

1971: Daryl went to work for a Mazda dealer where they built a rotary drag race car. He had been involved in drag racing since high school.

1973: Daryl built his first engine for a road racing application - IMSA RS. He stayed involved in RS until the early 1980's as a car owner and commercial engine builder.

1980: Daryl struck a deal with Mazda to build a Mazda RX-7 for SCCA C production, later to become a GT-2 car, with Bob Reed driving, which resulted in two national championships.

1980-'87: Daryl continued commercial engine building for competitors in SCCA, IMSA RS, GTU and a Pro Rally project with Heindrik Blok.

1987-'89: Daryl did the engine project for the Mickey Thompson off road trucks,image of drummond name on formula atlantic which resulted in one driver's championship. Daryl was still involved in SCCA and IMSA as an engine builder.

In 1989 Daryl also worked with Overton Autosports on their two car IMSA GTU project.

1990-present: Daryl brought a refocus of efforts to SCCA club racing with involvement in GT-2, GT-3, CSR, FA, and E-Production.
