The whole point of our engine mounts with stiffer urethane bushings is to get the power to the wheels, rather than being wasted on twisting the engine in it's mounts. It reduces driveline lash - that momentary whiplash when you step on the gas and there is a surge of power, and then a slight rocking as the engine first twists against the torque and then snaps back.

The cause is the soft rubber that manufacturers use in their mounts to dissipate the driveline vibration. Softer rubber means you'll feel less vibration from the engine and shifts. The downside is that softer rubber allows the engine and trans to twist more when torque changes.

Using our AWR's engine mounts with urethane bushings will result in a more direct application of power to the wheels. The torque isn't wasted twisting the engine, but goes more quickly to the wheels. You will feel a bit more vibration that the stock mounts had masked, but most people that like to drive hard, prefer AWR's mounts to the stock. We recommend the 70 durometer bushings for street cars, which is stiffer than a stock mount but not too harsh. The 88 and 95 durometers are respectively harder and recommended for racing applications.

This is definately a project that I would'nt mind gettin' into. How soon, and approximately how much will this set me back, if in fact this conversion does become available to those who want an all-wheel drive MS3 ? I've somewhat baby'd mine for 2 years, and rarely drive it. But after adding a few go fast goodies, and a nice carbon fiber hood to it. My wife and I, has been driving a bit more often. I'm sure that with an all wheel drive version of our MS3, we'll be out on the street more often, looking for STi's & Evo's Lol !!
