RDR ENJOYS HOME TRACK SUCCESS AND FIRST SPEC MIATA PODIUM OF THE SEASON
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., March 30, 2009 — Robert Davis Racing (RDR) raced at their “home track”, Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA, in front of over 80 invited team quests and celebrated five wins and their first Spec Miata podium of the season, with Jeremy Barnes.
Saturday started with drama as Ken Saward crashed hard into the tire barriers during qualifying. Fortunately Ken suffered no injuries, and thanks to great team work at RDR the car was back on the grid ready to race in under an hour. Ken had to start from the rear of the field, but won the “Weekend Racer Hard Charger” Award by passing 15 cars to capture 12th place.
Jim Holloway and Scott Shelton both scored doubles, winning their classes on both Saturday and Sunday. The RDR cars were 100% reliable with 16 finishes from 16 starts.

About RDR: RDR has been a dominant force on the west coast in SCCA Club Racing, winning regional, divisional and national titles for the last six years. While the team still supports the SCCA, NASA has given it the opportunity to race in different classes, eliminating much of the inter- team competition. MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development’s new support of NASA also aided the transition, as the team’s goal is to capture three NASA National titles at Miller Motorsports Park in September.
RDR appreciates the support of Mother’s Polishes and Waxes, SAFERACER, Hoosier Racing Tires, MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development, Racing Hart, Nippon Paint, Racing Beat, Speed Source, Hawk Brakes, Racing Beat, AWR, Classy Car Auto Detailing, Sparco, Pure Power Lubricants, Motul, Star Shield Armor, Petrol Eyewear and EMI.
